About This Tour

Tour Overview

August in Jaipur belongs to the monsoon, and there's a particular kind of magic in watching the Pink City soften under grey skies while its streets fill with colour for one of Rajasthan's most heartfelt celebrations. This five-day itinerary is built entirely around that window, timed so travellers experience the Teej Mata ki Sawari procession alongside the forts, palaces and bazaars that make Jaipur worth returning to again and again.

Rather than rushing between monuments, the pace here is deliberately unhurried. Mornings are kept for the city's grand set pieces, Amber Fort, City Palace, the quiet stepwells that most visitors never find on their own, while afternoons and evenings are shaped around the festival itself: the market build-up in the days before, the procession through the old city, and the smaller cultural moments that surround it. Rain, when it comes, tends to arrive in short bursts rather than settling in for the day, and the itinerary is flexible enough to absorb that without losing its rhythm.

This is a trip for travellers who want Jaipur beyond the postcard version, forts seen through fresh monsoon light, a festival experienced with proper context rather than from behind a crowd, and enough breathing room each day to actually take it in.

  • Front-row experience of the Teej Mata ki Sawari procession through the old city
  • Amber Fort visit under monsoon skies, when the hills turn a deep, unfamiliar green
  • Guided walk through pre-festival market preparations, bangles, lehariya fabric, mehndi
  • Private visit to City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal
  • Sunset at Nahargarh Fort with sweeping views over a rain-washed city
  • A quieter stepwell and heritage lane excursion, away from the main tourist flow
Day by Day

Your Itinerary

1
Day
Arrival in Jaipur, Settling In

Arrival at Jaipur International Airport is met with a private transfer to your hotel, where check-in is arranged smoothly. Given the humidity typical of August, the rest of the day is left free, time to rest, adjust, and get a first proper look at the city from your hotel or a nearby rooftop.

In the evening, a short briefing covers the days ahead, including how the Teej festival dates fall within your stay and where the procession route will pass. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

2
Day
Amber Fort and the Old City

The morning begins with a visit to Amber Fort, reached by a short jeep ride to the entrance. Under monsoon cloud cover, the fort's sandstone ramparts and the hills behind them take on a colour rarely seen in the dry months, and your guide walks you through its courtyards, mirrored halls and defensive architecture at an easy pace.

Returning to the city, the afternoon covers City Palace and Jantar Mantar, followed by a stop at Hawa Mahal for photographs of its honeycomb façade. As evening approaches, a walk through the lanes near Tripolia Bazaar offers a first look at the markets already filling with bangles, bright lehariya textiles and mehndi stalls ahead of Teej. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

3
Day
Teej Festival Day

This day is shaped entirely around the festival. You're guided to a well-positioned vantage point along the procession route in good time, before the Teej Mata ki Sawari begins its route from City Palace through the old city, accompanied by decorated elephants, folk musicians and dancers.

Following the procession, there's time to explore the surrounding streets, still busy with festival energy, and to try seasonal specialities such as ghewar from an established sweet shop nearby. The remainder of the afternoon is left unstructured, giving you the choice to rest, continue exploring, or return to the same streets once the crowds have thinned. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

4
Day
Hidden Jaipur and Sunset at Nahargarh

Away from the main sights, the morning is spent exploring a side of Jaipur most visitors miss: Panna Meena ka Kund, a strikingly geometric stepwell, followed by a walk through quieter heritage lanes and, weather permitting, a stop at Patrika Gate with its intricately painted archways.

Later in the afternoon, you're driven up to Nahargarh Fort in time for sunset, when monsoon clouds often drift below the ramparts and the city spreads out beneath a rare, dust-free haze. It's one of the best views Jaipur offers, and one of the least crowded. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

5
Day
Departure

The morning is kept free for any last shopping in the old city's markets or simply a slow breakfast before checkout. At the appropriate time, you're transferred to Jaipur International Airport for your onward journey, bringing the tour to a close.
